UIndy, Queens Lead Swimming & Diving Division II Top 25 (Copy)

Queens and UIndy share first-place in the women’s DII Top 25 December Polls. UIndy men top the rankings.

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its Division II Preseason Swimming & Diving Poll today.  The University of Indianapolis men remain first in the polls for the third consecutive time. Queens University of Charlotte and UIndy women are tied for number one this month.

UIndy men earn all but two of the top votes to take first in the polls with 148 points. Only two points behind is Queens (146) as they collect the remaining first-place votes. Drury (138 points) keeps their place at third. Colorado Mesa (130) and McKendree (128)  both climb two positions from November to take the 4th and 5th spots, respectively. Four men's teams joined the rankings this month with Simon Fraser (63) at 15th, Saint Cloud State (21) at 22nd, Lewis (18) at 24th and Bloomsburg (11) at 25th. In all, twenty-nine men's teams received votes.

On the women's side, UIndy and Queens split the first-place votes leaving them tied at 147 points each. Drury (138) is third again this month. Colorado Mesa (130) moves up three spots to fourth. Wingate (121) rounds out the top five this month. The women's poll has five new teams ranked with Wayne State (75) at 11th, Indiana (PA) (55) at 17th, Simon Fraser (44) at 19th, Minnesota State (22) at 24th and Saint Cloud State (16) at 25th. Thirty-five women's teams received votes.

The rankings are voted on by CSCAA-member coaches and select media. The committee includes six representatives from division II institutions and two media members. Paul Mangen, head coach of Saint Leo chairs both the men and women's polls. The remaining polls are scheduled for release on  January 19, and February 9 and March 4. These dates are subject to change.
