UIndy Men and Nova Southeastern Women Top DII Preseason Poll

May Lowy of the #1 Sharks

October 13, 2023 - Lewisburg, PA - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the pre-season edition of the Division II Top 25 dual meet poll. The Indianapolis Men men and Nova Southeastern women are the projected top dual meet teams in the country. The UIndy men were ranked first in the final poll of the 2022-23 season, while the Nova Southeastern Women were second.

The committee, consisting of Division II coaches, assesses and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their evaluation takes into account head-to-head dual meet outcomes, performances since the last rankings, season-long  performances, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men's side, the Greyhounds (249 points) took 9 first-place vote to earn their place at the top of the poll. McKendree (235), Colorado Mesa (223) and Drury (222) made their season debuts at second, third and fourth, respectively. Tampa (208) broke into the top five, retaining their spot from the final poll last season. In total 33 teams received votes to kick off the year.

For the women, the first place Sharks collected 244 points, edging out Colorado Mesa with 243. Indianapolis (232) opens up at third. Drury (221) is fourth and Tampa (220) fifth. In all, 34 teams earned votes.

Each committee includes eleven representatives from across the country. The women and men committee chairs are Chris Villa (IUP) and Brent Noble (Indy). This was the first poll of the season.

The 2023-2024 polls are scheduled for release on: Friday, October 13, 2023; Friday, November 17, 2023; Friday, December 15, 2023; Friday January 26, 2024; Friday February 9, 2024 and Friday March 1, 2024.
