Virginia Women, Texas Men claim top spots in CSCAA November Poll

The Virginia Women and Texas Men claim #1 in the CSCAA November Polls

November 14, 2024 - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released the November edition of the Division I Top 25 dual meet poll, with the University of Virginia women and Texas men claiming the top spots.

The committee, consisting of Division I coaches, evaluates and ranks the nation's top 25 dual meet teams. Their assessment considers head-to-head dual meet outcomes, recent performances since the last rankings, season-long results, dual meet records, roster changes (such as injuries), and data from the SwimCloud Simulator. It's important to note that the poll's objective is not to predict the top finishers in a championship meet format.

On the men's side, Texas (373) rose to first place after ranking second in last month’s poll. Arizona State (351) climbed four spots to reach second, while Indiana (337) moved up one spot to claim third. Cal (320) and Florida (320) tied for fourth to round out the top five. Louisville (263) jumped three spots into the top ten, tying with Stanford (263) at eighth. Wisconsin made the largest leap, climbing nine spots to reach 14th. North Carolina moved into the top 15 at 12th after being outside the poll previously, and Princeton (25th) re-entered the top 25 for the first time this year. In total, 30 teams from five conferences received votes.

For the women, top-ranked Virginia (425) retained their number one spot with every first-place vote. Texas (408) held steady at number two, while Indiana (371) climbed three spots to take third. Stanford (364) stayed at fourth, and NC State (358) moved up seven spots to complete the top five. Wisconsin (269) broke into the top ten after moving up five spots, while Arizona State (206) also rose five spots to reach 13th. Alabama (17th) was the only team to enter the top 25 from outside last month’s poll. Thirty-one teams from five conferences received votes this month.

Dual meet records are sourced from each institution's website.
