October 6th Swim Across America- Calling All Virginia Teams

Dear Virginia Area College Coaches,

Developing team culture and serving the community are important values to many college swimming programs. Swim Across America offers an opportunity for both, and the CSCAA is proud to partner with SAA. On Saturday, October 6th SAA will host Swim Across America—Richmond. Click here for more information about the charity swim.

There are two ways your program can get involved:

1)   Encourage your swimmers to register on their own

2)   Register a team under your college name

If you select option #2, SAA will provide you a code for your student-athletes to register bypassing the registration fee. In return, your college team is expected to make a good faith effort to raise $5,000 prior to the Oct. 6th charity swim. Your swimmers should also bring enthusiasm and team spirit encouraging the participants who are swimming as cancer survivors and in honor of those fighting cancer.

SAA has granted over $75 million to cancer research. Over 50 colleges participate in SAAs charity swim program including University of Missouri, Truman State, McKendree, St. Louis University, University of Missouri St. Louis, Colorado School of Mines, Emory, University of Georgia, Loyola University, University of Idaho, Seattle University, SMU, TCU, University of Texas, Queens University, Providence College, College of the Holy Cross, University of Connecticut, Boston University, Northeastern University, Bryan University, Assumption Swimming, Roger Williams University and Brown University.

Please check with your compliance department to clear your participation in the event.
