The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) announced the candidates for its centennial list of 100 Greatest Swimmers & Divers. Nine hundred and fifty-three (962) candidates, dating back more than 100 years were selected from 2,805 nominees. They will now go to a Blue Ribbon Panel of voters who will be charged with narrowing the selections to one hundred men and one hundred women.

As a part of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) year-long celebration of its centennial, a blue-ribbon panel has been convened to vote on the sport's greatest athletes, coaches and alumni. Fifty-six voters make up the blue ribbon panel with another fourteen expected to be added. The panel is comprised of influential figures from across college swimming and diving including current and former coaches, past athletes, and members of the media.

Hobart and William Smith College is reinstating men's swimming and diving while UMASS-Dartmouth has reversed its decision to eliminate women’s swimming. In doing so, UMASS-Dartmouth joins the ranks of William & Mary, Dartmouth, Iowa (women), and East Carolina (women) in reversing their decision.
